The National Museum of Transportation (TNMOT) has modified hours for Summer 2020 through August 8th to allow earlier entrance for our guests when the weather is cooler. Monday through Friday TNMOT opens at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 3:30 p.m. On the weekend the Museum opens at 9 a.m. both days and closes at 4 p.m.

Help us reach our 1,000,000 steps challenge by tracking your steps while at the Museum this summer. Let us know how many steps you’ve taken when you leave TNMOT.

Children of all ages can pick up activity sheets at our Welcome Desk for self-guided activities outdoors. We also have three versions of Creation Station this summer. (1) Our normal Creation Station continues with new times: Monday through Friday, 9, 10, 11 a.m., and 12 Noon. On Saturdays, Creation Station boarding times are 10, 11 a.m., and 12 Noon. (2) Camp Creation Station is a pop-up with boarding times on Monday through Friday of 8:45, 9:45, 10:45, and 11:45 a.m., and on Saturday of 9:45, 10:45, and 11:45 a.m. (3) Miss Sue’s Crayon Caboose is a pop-up story time and maker space with boarding times on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9:15, 10:15, 11:15 a.m., and 12:15 pm.

The miniature train operates Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. -2:30 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:20 a.m. – 3:20 p.m. The $5 charge in addition to museum admission per person for a ride wristband includes unlimited rides on the mini train and also on the handcars.

The trolley is expected to restart July 4th and is included with the price of admission. All rides on the trolley, the mini train, and the handcars depend on the weather and mechanical conditions.
