Beautiful Color Photo of The World Famous Big Boy Steam Engine #4006. This Famous Engine was Operated by The Union Pacific Railroad. Built in 1941 and operated until 1961 traveling more miles than any other Big Boy Built (1,064,625 miles). The Locomotive it self weighs 762,000 lbs, it’s tender weighs in at 342,200 lbs overall weight 1,104,200 lbs. Big Boy was capable of 80 mph Speed boasting 6290 Horsepower. This Monster was capable of pulling a train 5 miles long. Built new for $265,000.00 today it’s a priceless piece of American History on display here at the Museum.
